CRC PhD student, Houzhi Wang has been awarded the best paper prize after presenting his research at the Australian Combustion Symposium in Melbourne during December 2015.
Houzhi presented his paper on ‘Investigation of smouldering combustion of biomass fuel’ at the symposium. The paper discusses the effects of smouldering combustion on the initiation and spread of bushfires and draws on Houzhi’s CRC research project, Initiation of biomass smouldering combustion.
Houzhi is completing his PhD at the University of Adelaide.
