Dr Joanna Aldridge, currently Group Head of R&D – Catastrophe at QBE, is an industry-recognised leader in weather and climate research with more than 20 years of experience spanning extreme weather, forecasting, hazard assessment, and disaster management. Her career includes senior roles at QBE, Insurance Australia Group, Munich Re, and The University of Sydney, where she led pioneering research on tropical cyclones, storm surge, and hail risk. She combines scientific expertise with strategic leadership, delivering research programs that transform operational capability and inform decision-making at scale.
