Owen Price is director of the Centre for Environmental Risk Management of Bushfires at the University of Wollongong. After an early career as an animal ecologist, for the past 17 years he has worked with fire management agencies to solve problems around effective bushfire risk reduction. This has included evaluating the effectiveness of prescribed burning, the risk factors associated with house loss in bushfires and the production and spread of smoke from prescribed burns. He has published 130 scientific papers and 40 reports to Governments.
