A panel discussion on the 2014 supercell storm event in Brisbane and a session on the latest research into communications and warnings were features of a CRC sponsored conference in Queensland in May.
All up, around 17 researchers and end user representatives were key speakers at this two day annual conference.
The Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC was a key partner in the 2015 Australian & New Zealand Disaster and Emergency Management Conference, held on the Gold Coast from 3-5 May.
CEO Dr Richard Thornton delivered one of the conference keynote addresses with an overview of national all hazards research program.

Research Manager Dr Michael Rumsewicz believes BNHCRC research had a lot to offer the two day program, which featured research and innovations across all hazards.
“A number of CRC researchers featured on the program, not just in our branded sessions but also across other sessions dealing with related subjects ."
“Our all hazards nature means we are well placed to contribute in all areas – prevention, preparedness, response and recovery,” said Dr Rumsewicz.
The Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC was also be prominent in the exhibition space and distributed many research program books and other publications.
