Abstract submissions are now open for AFAC20 powered by INTERSCHUTZ, Australia’s largest emergency management conference. Taking place in Adelaide from 25-28 August, AFAC20 provides the opportunity to share natural hazards research with leading experts from the fire and land management sector.
AFAC20 will kick-off with the CRC’s Research Forum, a day dedicated to natural hazards research. The conference is a major avenue to showcase the latest science to the fire, land management and emergency services industry, in Australia and internationally. All Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC projects are expected to submit an abstract.

The conference program will explore how an inclusive approach across emergency management agencies is integral to reducing risk and fostering resilience now and into the future.
AFAC20 powered by INTERSCHUTZ provides the perfect space to network, gain knowledge, learn from experts in the sector and witness Australasia’s largest emergency management exhibition. The 2019 edition is up for two awards from the Exhibition & Event Association of Australasia – the ‘best trade show over 10,000m2’ and ‘best association event’.
Information about the call for abstracts is available on the conference website, including submission guidelines with detailed information about the conference theme and topics to address. Abstracts are due by 10 February 2020.
Abstract submissions are open to all involved in emergency management including career staff, volunteers, academics, industry, community and all levels of government.
AFAC20 will be held in conjunction with the Institution of Fire Engineers (Australia) National Conference, Australian Disaster Resilience Conference and the Women in Firefighting Australasia (WAFA) Conference.
The conference takes place at the Adelaide Convention Centre from 25-28 August 2020.
