The Research to Drive Change series is available on the Bushfire CRC website
Last week saw the successful conclusion of the Bushfire CRC’s Research to Drive Change online forum series, with over 110 participants joining researchers and an end user online to discuss human behaviour and community education research.
Held over the past six months, the Research To Drive Change series communicated the findings from the final three years of Bushfire CRC research. All the forums and their accompanying documentary video are available to be replayed at www.bushfirecrc.com/drivechange. These important resources will continue to be accessible on this page into the future.
Beginning in May and running through to October, the online forums were a practical approach that allowed participants from all over Australia and overseas to be involved in interactive discussion. The series was well attended, with many agencies and brigades showed the forums on big screens, allowing many people to watch at once.
Each forum featured leading researchers and industry end users discussing the research findings, what each finding means and answering questions from the audience.
Topics covered included community safety, next generation fire modelling, firefighter health and safety, ecology, incident management, legal and policy, mapping fire in the tropical north and economics to aid decision making.
