The Board of the Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC is now in place and an annual schedule of meetings has been decided upon.
The directors have a broad perspective across the jurisdictions and a necessarily wide range of skills and experience, reflecting the scope of the work program and the roles and requirements of the diverse stakeholders in this CRC.
The nine directors met in Sydney at the end of last year and will meet again in Hobart in mid March.
Dr Laurie Hammond (Independent Chairman)
Stuart Ellis (AFAC Ltd)
Kathy Gramp (Independent)
Commissioner Lee Johnson (Qld Fire and Emergency Services)
Commissioner Craig Lapsley (Vic. Fire Services Commissioner)
David Place (SAFECOM)
Prof Alistar Robertson (Independent)
Tony Sheehan (Commonwealth Attorney General's Department)
Naomi Stephens (NSW Office of Environment and Heritage)
It is the intention of the Board that it will meet in various jurisdictions during each year to enable it to interact with the partners there, and to get feedback and ideas on the strategic direction of the centre.
The Board is now establishing committees to help it with its business and the oversight of the company.
