Magazine promotes science

There is plenty of science inside the latest edition of Fire Australia, published by the Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC, AFAC and the Fire Protection Association of Australia.

The Winter 2015 edition features Snapshots from Sendai - which details the third United Nations World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction, held in Sendai, Japan. Representatives from Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC and AFAC joined over 6,500 delegates from nearly 200 UN member nations at the conference.

Also inside the pages is Oceans on the Rise, looking at a CRC project investigating the impact of extreme water levels on the coast, and what can be done to mitigate the risk. CRC Project Leader Professor Kevin Ronan also takes a look at the recent Nepal earthquakes and the risk reduction gulf between similar disasters in established and establishing countries.
