Resident experiences from the January 2014 Parkerville bushfire in Western Australia have been analysed in two reports by the Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC.
Following the fire in the Perth Hills on 12 January 2014, the Western Australian Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) commissioned the Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC to conduct community-focused research with fire-affected communities.
Researchers conducted detailed interviews with 91 residents, as well as an online survey of 58 people that was open to all residents in the Shire of Mundaring, where the fire occurred, from May to early July 2014.
