Prof Charitha Pattiaratchi speaks at the 2016 conference.
The call for abstracts for AFAC17 powered by INTERSCHUTZ, the CRC's annual conference with AFAC, is now open. All CRC projects are expected to submit an abstract, with the conference being a major avenue to the fire, land management and emergency services industry.
Taking place at the new International Convention Centre in Sydney from 4-7 September 2017, the conference will explore Collaborating for Success – Improving performance in emergency management and again open with the CRC’s Research Forum.
All the details needed to submit an abstract are available on the conference website, including submission guidelines with detailed information about the conference theme and topics to address. Note that abstracts must be submitted through the dedicated conference website. The closing date for submissions is 13 February 2017.
While the first day will be dedicated to natural hazards science, it is anticipated that many science papers will also appear on the program in subsequent days. Abstract submissions are open to all involved in emergency management including career staff, volunteers, academics, industry, community and all levels of government.
The conference will once again feature a huge trade exhibition, thanks to the partnership with INTERSCHUTZ. 2016's trade exhibition was the largest in the histroy of the conference, with 2017 set to be even bigger.
