With livestreamed shared keynotes and panels, the 6th International Fire Behaviour and Fuels Conference is not one to be missed.
Taking place in Sydney, but also concurrently in Marseille (France), Albuquerque (United States), this International Association of Wildland Fire conference will feature keynotes across all three locations, showcase the latest in research, and share lessons learned through lived experience.
Presenters will explore emerging ideas and practice and look to how fire management is changingto respond to future challenges locally, regionally and globally.
The conference is a fantastic opportunity for emergency managers, land managers and researchers to learn more about all aspects of bushfires, from the physical and biological, to the economic and social sciences.
The Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC is a lead partner inthe Sydney conference, alongside the New South Wales Rural Fire Service and the Bureau of Meteorology.
Sydney keynotes,which will be live streamed to Marseille and Albuquerque, are Prof Jeremy Russell-Smith on fire ecology and community resilience across the northern savannas, Dr Neil Burrows on prescribed burning lessons from Western Australia and Anne Leadbeater on community recovery.
The full conference program will be published in coming weeks, featuring an emphasis onfuels and fuel modification including prescribed burning, fire behaviour and fire behaviour predictions and risk modelling and decision support systems.
