Panel session on communicating floodwater at ANZDMC19.
Abstract submissions for the upcoming Australian and New Zealand Disaster and Emergency Management conference 2020 will close on March 13. Taking place on the Gold Coast from 1-2 June, the ANZDEM conference will explore the latest research, technology, policies and practical experiences in disaster and emergency management.
The 2020 ANZDEM conference provides a platform to connect and share insight on planning, operation and strategy in various sectors of emergency management and community safety. Opportunities to network and develop relationships with fellow emergency service professionals, discover emerging high-tech technologies, capabilities and products, and identify new learnings from individual and collaborative case studies will be prevalent throughout the conference.
The two day conference will feature CRC research while exploring the following three key themes:
Leadership: preparing for and shaping the future
Communication: getting the right messages to the right people who understand what to do
Community engagement: embracing the knowledge and untapped potential
Information about the call for abstracts is available on the conference website, including submission guidelines with detailed information about the conference themes and topics to address. Abstract submissions are open to all involved in emergency management and are due by 13 March 2020.
The Australian and New Zealand Disaster and Emergency Management conference is a joint initiative of three not-for-profit organisations: the Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC, the Australian Institute of Emergency Services, and the Australian and New Zealand Mental Health Association Inc. This year marks the ninth year of the conference, and the sixth directly aligned with the CRC.
The ANZDEM conference will take place at the RACV Royal Pines on the Gold Coast from 1-2 June 2020.
