Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC researchers have been briefing community members and emergency services on cyclones and the latest engineering research underway.
As part of Townsville City Council’s cyclone season awareness day, Cyclone Sunday, project leader Dr David Henderson and PhD student Korah Parackal from the Improving the resilience of existing housing to severe wind events project set up a stall to show people examples of how how cyclones can damage homes and the research underway to find the best and most cost-effective ways to retrofit homes.

Dr Henderson has taken part in a Queensland Fire and Emergency Services briefing recently in Mackay. At the pre-season briefing Dr Henderson spoke about the research underway and findings from the project so far.
