This is a recording of the 2020 Dr Laurie Hammond Oration, hosted by the Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC as part of National Science Week.
In the live online oration, Fire, flood, storm and cyclone: applying science to the challenge, that took place on 19 August 2020, Australia's Chief Scientist, Dr Alan Finkel, drew on his extensive experience in research, academia and public policy to speak on how science and technology can make a meaningful difference, and how public benefit research, in particular, can play a role.
