The Keeping Your Animals Safe in an Emergency (Hawkesbury-Nepean region) booklet was created to provide general information to animal owners in the Hawkesbury-Nepean Valley in NSW, focusing on management of large animals, such as horses, during floods.
The production of this booklet was led by NSW State Emergency Service and the Hawkesbury Nepean Valley Animal Ready Community group, supported by Dr Mel Taylor (Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC; Infrastructure NSW), NSW State Emergency Service Hawkesbury Unit, Greater Sydney Local Land Services, NSW Department of Primary Industries, Agnes Bank Equine Clinic, Hawkesbury City Council and NSW Rural Fire Service.
