Professor Dino Pisaniello is Adjunct Professor in Occupational and Environmental Hygiene and founding Director of the OEH Laboratory and Adelaide Exposure Science and Health in the School of Public Health at the University of Adelaide. He is a Fellow of three professional societies, namely AIHS, AIOH and RACI.
Prof Pisaniello is currently the Chair of the College of Fellows of the Australian Institute of Health and Safety. The College consists of the most senior group of generalist OHS professionals in Australia and has over 200 members.
From 1997-2021, he was the Chief Technical Advice Coordinator (HAZMAT) for the South Australian Emergency Agencies.
He has led projects for various national and international funding bodies and organisations including ARC, Commonwealth Department of Health, US Department of Defense, DSTG and Safe Work Australia. He has chaired several conferences, attended by policy makers, practitioners, researchers and other stakeholders.
Prof Pisaniello works with various professional and industry groups to translate evidence into practice in order to advance the health and wellbeing of communities in Australia and internationally.
His publications address hazards in mining, manufacturing, defence, healthcare, agriculture, domestic and office environments, work and vision and climate change impacts on health. He has expertise in indoor air quality, chemical hazard risk assessment and management, occupational and environmental epidemiology, intervention research, and health and safety education.
