Do not miss out on key research learnings

Two days in Adelaide in July are shaping up as a must attend event for those working to improve the way Australia prepares for and responds to natural hazards emergencies. 

With the program now available for Research Driving Change - Showcase 2017, it is not too late to register.

The event takes place in Adelaide on 4-5 July, and is sponsored by the Attorney-General's Department and the University of Adelaide. 

Research Driving Change - Showcase 2017 is a showcase of practical research outcomes of the CRC from 2013 to 2017. This year marks a midway point for the CRC and a time to deliver on the national investment into the problems and issues on natural hazards. This event is different to previous CRC events, with registrations essential prior. Note that there is a small registration fee to cover catering costs.

We are now seeing outcomes of the national research program being taken up by CRC partners, and others, across the broader emergency management sector. Research Driving Change – Showcase 2017 is an opportunity to listen, discuss and digest all the learnings. Case studies from those using the research right now will highlight how the findings are being put into practice.

Key sessions will include:

• Communicating and warning: getting the message across more effectively
• Building bushfire predictive services capability
• Making a difference - how is CRC research influencing emergeny management
• Getting value from research investment: experiences in taking research to practice
• Understanding the value and challenges of risk mitigation
• A changing world - where to now emergency management research?

The program will cater for those who have closely followed the research in recent years, as well as those new to the CRC and wanting to avoid missing out on developments in the sector.

All attendees will receive a package of publications that summarise the key findings of each project, and point to ongoing ways of participation in utilisation, as well as a briefing on the suite of new research that is about to begin.
