Paper submissions for Australia’s premier emergency management conference, AFAC19 powered by INTERSCHUTZ are now open, and all CRC projects are expected to submit an abstract.
The conference moves to Melbourne next year, and will be attended by emergency managers, land managers, volunteers and researchers from across Australia and internationally. As a result, the conference is a major avenue to the fire, land management and emergency services industry.
A shift to the new norm: riding the wave of change, is the theme for 2019, which will again open with the CRC’s Research Forum.
All the details needed to submit an abstract are available on the conference website, including submission guidelines with detailed information about the conference theme and topics to address.
Abstracts must be submitted through the conference website by 11 February 2019.
While the Research Forum will be dedicated to natural hazards science, many science papers will also appear on the program in subsequent days. Abstract submissions are open to all involved in emergency management including career staff, volunteers, academics, industry, community and all levels of government.
The conference provides the perfect space to network, gain knowledge, learn from experts in the sector and witness the enormity trade exhibition.
AFAC19 will be held in conjunction with the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) National Conference. The Australian Institute for Disaster Resilience will also co-locate the Australian Disaster Resilience Conference 2019 (ADRC) with AFAC19. Both IFE and ADRC have opened their Call for Abstracts at the same time, with individual abstract portals.
The conference takes place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 27 – 30 August 2019.
