Abstract deadlines for AFAC18 powered by INTERSCHUTZ have now been extended until Monday 19 February.
All CRC projects are expected to make a submission, with the conference serving as a networking event with fire, land management and emergency services industries.
This joint annual conference between the Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC and AFAC will be held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from 5-8 September, and explore the theme changing lives in a changing world.
The conference will open with the CRC’s Research Forum, with the first day dedicated to natural hazards science. Science papers will feature across the next two days, with all involved in emergency management including career staff, volunteers, academics, industry, community and all levels of government encouraged to make a submission. This year also includes a full stream dedicated to the Australian Disaster Resilience Conference, run by the Australian Institute for Disaster Resilience. This will occur concurrently with the main program on 6-7 September. If applicable, you are welcome to submit your abstract to this conference, and it’s possible the conference committee may select your abstract to appear as part of the Australian Disaster Resilience Conference, even if submitted for the Research Forum or main program. Submission is through the same conference website.
The details needed to submit an abstract can be found on the conference website, including submission guidelines with detailed information about the conference theme and topics to address. Note that abstracts must be submitted through the dedicated conference website.
2017's trade exhibition was the largest in the history of the conference, and thanks to the partnership with INTERSCHUTZ, this year will once again feature a huge trade exhibition.
