Jessica Hellier

Jessica Hellier is currently working for Melbourne Water in development planning, while also completing her Master of Urban Planning at the University of Melbourne. Jessica’s research evaluates current land use planning policy in Melbourne, in terms of how well it defines and addresses flood risk. It uses qualitative, case-study research methods involving policy analysis and semi-structured interviews, focusing on the ways that current land use planning mechanisms address flood risk, and whether there are opportunities to treat this risk more comprehensively through the planning system.
