A/Prof Kim Johnston

A/Prof Kim Johnston's PhD research focuses on communication issues associated with engagement, social impact and social license to operate across government, private, and the non-profit sectors. Her recent funded projects include the 2015-2018 community engagement for waterways in SEQ, contributing to the annual Healthy Land and Water report card. In 2017, she led the first national study to understand the social impact of the Australian meat processing industry. She teaches community engagement, issues management, media strategy and change communication in the QUT Business School. She is editor of the Handbook of Communication Engagement, and is on the editorial board of the International Journal of Corporate Communication. Her work is published in a number of highly ranked communication, public relations and marketing journals.
