Coastal management, building infrastructure and culturally appropriate fire management are key areas of research featured in the latest CRC videos below.
The short videos, which are also available on our Hazard Channel, feature researchers and end-users discussing various projects and give an overview of what the science hopes to achieve and how it will benefit the emergency management sector.
Offering an insight into the Hardening buildings and infrastructure cluster of projects is Geoscience Australia’s Leesa Carson, and the University of Adelaide's Prof Michael Griffith.
Coastal management cluster leader, Dr Scott Nichol of Geoscience Australia, discusses the cluster's two research projects and what they are trying to achieve. Dr Nichol is joined by research end-user, Dr Martine Woolf, also from Geoscience Australia, who explains how the research will be used to benefit the sector.
Charles Darwin University PhD student, Kate van Wezel, discusses her CRC student research project, Towards culturally appropriate fire management in the Waanyi and Garawa lands. The project is a collaboration with the Waanyi and Garawa people in assessing the challenges and opportunities of longterm culturally appropriate fire management.
